Pershang Farshi, Ph.D. is Research Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at El Paso. She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Muenster in Germany in 2011. Her research areas of interest are Cancer Biology, Drug Discovery and Neurodegenerative diseases. She has worked on various research and development projects in different institutions in fields of genomics, nerve regeneration, spinal cord injury, cell biology, cancer research, drug discovery with a focus on both synthetic and natural components in vivo and vitro study. Her current research focus on drug discovery in cancer research. Formerly, she was a research assistant at the Max-Planck Institute for Plant Breeding in Cologne, Germany, where she received her master's degree. Pershang was also a research scientist at the Karmanos Cancer Institute and University of Michigan Ann Arbor, where she was also a post-doc scholar.
